KAMESHIA DUNCAN (Abigail/Others) is thrilled to be returning to GableStage and working with Joe and the crew, performing in this amazing production and sharing the stage with Ms. Lela Elam. Kameshia is a company member of Ground Up & Rising and has performed with numerous South Florida theatre companies. Regional Theatre: Alliance Theatre Company, Seven Stages, Actors' Playhouse, Aurora Theatre, Horizon Theatre and Synchronicity Performance Group. Kameshia is the inaugural recipient of the Fred Diekman Emerging Artist Award (2007) and she was selected as the SunPost Best Actress of 2006. She feels extremely blessed for the body of work she has done - and she would like to thank God for his constant guidance, her mother and her family/friends. She dedicates this performance to her Ground Up family who are holding it down, East Coast and West Coast, Sheaun, Natalie and Bechir. "I miss you guys, keep moving y'all! Onward and upward!"
LELA ELAM (Nia /Others) is thrilled to be back at GableStage, working again with Kameshia, Joe Adler and all of the wonderful people at GableStage who "make it happen." She was last seen in GableStage's production of Intimate Apparel, for which she received a Carbonell Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Lela has also worked at New Theatre in Touch, for which she was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress, and in Just a Kiss for which she received the Miami Sun Post's Best of 2007 Best Comedy Performance - Female. She has also been blessed to work for The Women's Theatre Project in their productions of The Anastasia Trials in the Court of Women, Necessary Targets, Tongue of a Bird, and Shiloh Rules, as well as the M Ensemble's productions of The Piano Lesson, Flyin' West, Two Trains Running, Seven Guitars, and Ceremonies In Dark Old Men. She has also worked with the wonderful Tony Thompson of the Metropolitan Diversity Theatre (formerly the Vinette Carroll Theatre) in the production Just Us. Lela wishes to thank God, whom she bothers all day long, her parents John and Hallie Elam whose love and support she could never thank them enough for, her godfather John Tellis who always lets her know how proud he is of her, and her best friends: "her princess" Carey Hart and "her flower" Stacey Rose.
