Shy Midwesterner Philip Brugglestein reinvents himself as the seductive, cocky Londoner Harry Clarke, moving to New York and charming his way into a wealthy family’s life. But as his web of lies deepens, his reckless behavior threatens to unravel more than just his persona.

Mark H. Dold*

Mark made history in June 2020 as the first professional actor to perform for a live audience post-pandemic shutdown in Harry Clarke at Barrington Stage Company.

Mark is known to GableStage audiences for Appropriate and The Lehman Trilogy, which won the 2024 Carbonell Award for Best Production and earned him a Best Actor nomination. He appeared in the original Broadway cast of The Inheritance (2020 Tony Award, Best Play), and has worked extensively Off-Broadway and at theaters nationwide.

On screen, he has appeared in TV series, films, pilots, and web projects. His work has earned recognition from the Off Broadway Alliance, BroadwayWorld, Elliot Norton Awards, and multiple critics’ circles.

Mark holds degrees from Boston University and the Yale School of Drama. He is an Associate Artist and Board of Trustees member at Barrington Stage and volunteers at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Dedicated to Mark Auerbach. @markhdold

Julianne Boyd**

Julianne Boyd is the Founding Artistic Director of Barrington Stage Company (1995- 2022) where she directed last season’s comedy hit, Boeing Boeing. She has also directed many critically acclaimed Stephen Sondheim musicals: A Little Night Music, Company (starring Tony-award winner Aaron Tveit), Sweeney Todd, Follies, and West Side Story. She directed the world premiere of Christopher Demos-Brown’s American Son as well as world premieres of Mark St. Germain’s Dancing Lessons, The Best of Enemies and Dr. Ruth, All the Way, starring Debra Jo Rupp and later moving Off Broadway. In 1997, she directed BSC’s smash hit production of Cabaret, which won six Boston Theater Critics Awards and later transferred to the Hasty Pudding Theatre in Cambridge.

Boyd conceived and directed the Broadway musical Eubie!, a show based on the music of Eubie Blake which starred Gregory Hines and garnered three Tony nominations. She also co-conceived and directed (with Joan Micklin Silver) the award-winning Off Broadway musical revue A…My Name Is Alice (Outer Critics’ Award) and its sequel A…My Name Is Still Alice.

From 1992–1998 Boyd served as President of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, the national labor union representing professional directors and choreographers in the U.S.

She and her husband Norman have three grown children.
